Preparations for Kannur Monsoon Marathon are being completed.
Kannur: Preparations for the Monsoon Marathon jointly organized by Kannur City Police and District Government on June 12 are being completed. The marathon starting from the police parade ground is being organized in the category of 21 kilometers and 10 kilometers. People of any age limit can participate in the Monsoon Marathon irrespective of gender and gender. In the 21 kilometer open category, the winners will get Rs. 15,000/- as the first prize, Rs. 10,000/- as the second prize and Rs. 8,000/- as a cash prize. In the category above 45 years of age, first prize 4,000/-, second prize 3,000/- and third prize 2,000/-. In the 10 kilometer open category, the winners will get Rs. 8,000/- as the first prize, Rs. 6,000/- as the second prize and Rs. 4,000/- as the third prize. In the category above 45 years of age, first prize 3,000/-, second prize 2,000/- and third prize 1,000/-. Prizes will be given in male-female categories. Medals will be given to all who complete the competition under the conditions. Prizes for police force members participating in the IG Cup Marathon (Police) category will be 10,000/-, 8,000/-, 6,000/- in the 21 kilometer category, 5,000/-, 3,000/- and 2,000/- in the 10 kilometer category. Starting from Kannur Police Parade Ground, Caltex, Training School, Thana, Kalyan Silks, Upper Mars, Thekkil Peedika, Lower Mars, Lower Mars Railway Gate, HP Petrol Pump, Chala Bypass, Chala Junction, Jimcare Hospital, Azra Termims Hospital, Mathrubhumi stop and the way police reach the parade ground, Starting from the Kannur police parade ground in 10 kilometer section, Caltex, Training School, Thana, Kalyan Silks, Upper Mars, Thekkil Pedika, Lower Mars, Lower Mars railway gate and then reaching the police parade ground. Thil is hosting the marathon.
